I sent long message to my friend in Tokyo and the message got split into several messages. Why is this happening?

Regarding the problem you are having, apparently long messages heading toward Japan are having same kind of an issue that you are experience if the handset is using Japanese mobile carrier called 'KDDI'.
Unfortunately, we have nothing we can about that.
